CLASS Project

Connecting Libraries and Schools for Success!

NHCS Staff Accounts

CLASS Project, uses Staff UID numbers instead of separate library cards. With their CLASS Project account, all NHCS staff can:

  • Access NHCPL research databases

  • Borrow digital materials such as e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines

  • Borrow up to 2 print books, audiobooks, or magazines at a time (no DVDs or music CDs)

  • There are no overdue fines or fees for CLASS Project accounts.

Staff are still encouraged to visit the library to obtain a traditional library card with extended borrowing privileges. In addition, teachers may visit the library to obtain Educator Cards.

About Educator Cards

  • These cards are separate from your personal NHCPL card.
  • The Educator card offers expanded availability of library materials for classroom use, with an extended checkout limit and checkout period (up to 50 items, checked out for 6 weeks). Items may be renewed once.
  • To apply for an Educator card at any NHCPL location, the teacher should bring a photo ID, proof of mailing address, and verification of current status as an educator in New Hanover County.

Can we help by assembling a selection of books for use with a class or group?

  • Do you need a collection of books to support a theme or topic you are using in your classroom?
  • Use NHCPL's Teacher Request Form to allow the Children's Services staff to pull items for you and have them ready for a quick pick up.
  • Please allow a minimum of 7 days advance notice so that we may put together the best collection possible for you.
