NHC Ready to Read
Story Stations

The focus of NHC Ready to Read is to expose teachers, parents, and children to high quality, literacy based materials, activities, and storytimes to promote kindergarten readiness.

All NHC child care centers and NC Pre-Ks can apply for services at start of each school year. Contact us anytime during the year for any special requests.

Possible services include:

Scheduled on-site ECRR based demonstration storytimes.
Scheduled book bags highlighting literacy rich print materials and high quality children's literature
Teacher Trainings (DCDEE Credits)
Parent Workshops

Story Stations

Story Stations are early literacy stations in waiting rooms at the Health Department and Planning Departments.
These stations provide a literacy rich environment for care givers to interact with young children by reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing.
